Students Raise Funds for Boston Officers

EUGENE, Ore. — A University of Oregon student is trying to raise money for the Boston Police Department to show gratitude.

She says she was compelled to help the Boston police after their heroic efforts last week and decided those officers earned some free breakfast. So she took to the Internet to encourage others to donate money to buy members of the Boston Police Department coffee and bagels.

For the founder of the donation efforts, it’s a simple but meaningful way to show appreciation.

“They’re doing such a great job, and they did amazing, and they were just so strong. And I really wanted to say thank you. Their strength was really felt around the country,” said Hannah McCracken, fundraiser founder.
