EUGENE, Ore. — Students at the University of Oregon got a taste of what pet ownership’s all about Thursday afternoon.
It’s all part of Greenhill Humane Society’s semi-annual Rent-A-Pooch fundraiser. Students got to rent a dog for fifteen minutes; the shelter sold out all of the available time slots before the day was over.
Some dog renters say this was a great way to be around animals and helps calm everyone down right before finals begin.
“It’s just a great stress reliever actually, it’s very nice. See how they react to other dogs and see how their personalities are,” said LCC student Ian McNaughton.
A lot of students say they miss having their dog around when away at school; so these play dates, even though they were short, made everyone smile.
The shelter holds the fundraiser in both the fall and spring semesters.
