Thursday’s Weather Discussion from Chief Meteorologist Justin Stapleton
Friday sees some morning clouds in the valley, but by the afternoon, we’ll all be seeing sunny skies and a nice return into the low 70s. High pressure is building in so we’re setting up a great, sunny, and warm first weekend of June.
By the weekend, a sizable high pressure ridge rebuilds across the Eastern Pacific and starts to draw up much warmer air into the Northwest. We’ll see highs push back into the mid to upper 70s and back to dry, sunny skies through next week. With both Duck and Beaver baseball teams hosting teams, it should be a great weekend for college playoff baseball.
The one caveat to our full sunshine weekend is a weak disturbance that’ll fall apart before it reaches the coastline, but will push the marine layer back inland for a cloudy start areawide for Sunday. Highs will be a bit cooler, back down in the low 70s but still sunny by the afternoon.
Next week, the sunny skies hold on and a heat low or thermal trough starts to build off the Northern CA coast. That usually works in our favor for a very warm couple of days. I’m looking at highs climbing into the upper 70s and even low 80s next Tuesday and Wednesday.
Have a great Thursday!
