Friday’s Weather Discussion from Chief Meteorologist Justin Stapleton
More sunshine, 80s and plenty of grass pollen is on tap for Friday and the weekend. While there’s a big area of low pressure sending smaller storms our way, none of them are strong enough to make it through the high pressure ridge controlling our weather. What they will do is shave off a few degrees by Sunday, while Saturday will stay warm with highs back inthe low 80s. Fans headed to Goss Stadium for the Beavers taking on Kansas State in the Super Regional, first pitch forecast at 4pm should be right around 81. Clear again going into Sunday morning with some low clouds at the coast.
Tomorrow’s NCAA Track and Field finals will be sunny with a breezy afternoon, which will keep the grass pollen well stuck in the “Very High” category. There’s a slight chance for some relief in sight but it’s way out in the extended forecast, next Tuesday and Wednesday we’ll finally see a cooler airmass move in and a slight chance for some isolated showers by Thursday. Highs will also drop back into the low 70s, right about where we should be right now.
Have a great weekend!
