METEOROLOGIST MELISSA FREY’S FORECAST DISCUSSION:
On shore flow is in full force again today which means clouds have extended from the coast to the Cascades. The sun will break through again this afternoon, but with slightly cooler air moving in, highs will stay in the upper 70s for the valley, low to mid 80s for the Umpqua Basin and mid 60s for the Coast.
A trough of low pressure is sitting just off shore which means the pattern of morning clouds and afternoon sunshine will continue with southwest flow overhead and on-shore flow at the surface.
By Friday the on-shore flow should weaken and we should see less cloud cover to start the day. By Saturday there shouldn’t be much cloud cover at all.
This extra sunshine Friday and Saturday will help bring temperatures back into the mid to upper 80s for the valley, low 90s for the Umpqua Basin and mid to upper 60s for the coast.
Have a great Wednesday!
