METEOROLOGIST MELISSA FREY’S FORECAST DISCUSSION:
What a difference a day makes! 24-hours ago we were sitting at just 20 degrees in Eugene and now, a much more comfortable 40.
A front moved through late Wednesday which caused a 180 degree shift in our winds. Not only did we have more clouds overnight, helping to retain some heat at the surface, but our winds were coming in from the south Oregon Coast, rather than the northern Cascades.
The front is long gone and its back to sunny, dry weather for all of Friday and unlike Wednesday or Thursday, you may actually be able to get out and enjoy it.
The clouds will return early Saturday and over the weekend we could see a few showers late Saturday and and off and on Sunday. Highs will stay in the mid 40s with overnight lows in the mid 30s.
We’ll see a quick break between storms Monday, but by Monday night the storm train returns. Storms are lined up Monday night through Thursday, which will bring rain and snow down to at least 2,000 feet.
Have a great weekend and enjoy the sun for now!
