Chief Meteorologist Justin Stapleton‘s Daily Forecast Discussion:
Looking good as we head into the end of May, which also happens to be our weekend! Tonight, mostly clear again with some early AM clouds developing in the valleys along with the coast seeing cloudy skies to start Friday. Overnight lows will not be as cold as this morning (upper 30s), nice and cool in the mid 40s.
The weekend still carries some questions as to how cloudy it will remain in the afternoons, but I think we’ll be closer to mostly sunny each day. With a slight trough of low pressure over the Northwest, we’ll carry a slight chance for some isolated thunderstorms in the mountains. The inland valleys should remain rain-free for the weekend. So we’ll keep a close watch, otherwise, fans heading to Heyward Field for the Pre Classic or Beaver backers heading up to Howe for the baseball regionals, will stay dry.
Next week, a larger high pressure ridge starts to nudge closer to the coast, which should put all of the state under mostly sunny skies and warm things up as well.
Have a great Thursday night!
