Super PACs Spend Big in Oregon Primary

Primary ElectionSALEM, Ore. — Super PACs are spending big in Oregon’s republican primary this election.

According to campaign finance records, three super political action committees and one traditional political action committee have reported spending more than $900,000 to either support or oppose State Representative Jason Conger and Portland physician Monica Wehby.

The money was paid for by advertisements on television, radio and the internet, as well as mailers arriving with ballots in registered republicans’ mailboxes.

Super PACs can raise and spend unlimited sums on federal races.
