Near LEBANON, Ore. – A report of a suspicious device in a car forced crews to close Highway 34 at milepost 14 just west of Lebanon.
Oregon State Police was called to assist Linn County deputies and Lebanon Police with the investigation.
Deputies say Matthew Reniff from Eugene said he had an explosive device in his car on Highway 34. When officers got to the scene, there was no device in the car and Reniff was arrested.
The highway was closed for about two hours.
