EUGENE, Ore. — A driver is in the hospital after crashing her SUV into a house in west Eugene.
Investigators think the woman–driving a red Chevy Tahoe–was headed north on Welcome Way but on the wrong side of the road.
She veered out of the way of oncoming traffic, bounced over a curb, hit the minivan parked in the driveway and ricocheted into the front of the house.
“I just got off work early. Normally I wouldn’t have been home. At least, I guess, I was home when it happened,” said homeowner Jennifer Patterson.
An officer said the homeowner is okay, but she’s a little shaken up. The homeowner told the officer that the crash sounded like someone had thrown something big and heavy against the side of the house.
The driver was able to get out of her SUV.
She’s being treated at McKenzie-Willamette Hospital for unknown injuries.
