EUGENE, Ore. — High gas prices might be a little more incentive to compete in the Business Commute Challenge.
Monday, teams participated in the Poker Challenge Walkabout. They got a gift basket with a map of seven different organizations to visit where they’d get a card. The team with the best hand won.
Organizers say it’s a way to get participants moving to see what’s going on downtown.
“I think that it’s easy to walk, that there’s a lot of things downtown that they can go to on their lunch hour and a lot of businesses that they can support,” said Marcia Maffei, Business Commute Challenge Coordinator.
Tuesday, organizers will recognize people who are riding their bikes to work instead of driving by themselves.
