SPRINGFIELD, Ore– Springfield Police have arrested a teen they say stole a car, and then ran from them.
On Thursday night, an officer attempted to pull over 18-year old Ricky Meyer for a traffic violation. He attempted to drive off, and after a short pursuit, police say Meyer crashed into a utility pole, and then ran away on foot.
Officers were unable to locate him, but a short time later, Meyer’s family turned him in.
He is lodged at Lane County Jail on a number of felony charges, including eluding police and possession of a stolen vehicle.
