Teen Meets Country Music Star

ROSEBURG, Ore. — The Douglas County Fair kicked off this week. One lucky fan was rewarded for her perseverance and amazing spirit.

The Western Wishes program granted Kelly Walker the chance to meet country music star Clay Walker. The Roseburg native’s excitement shines through as she shakes his hand and talks with the country star.

Jones is a special needs student who is an inspiration to almost everyone she meets. She competes in the barrel races with horses, which is just part of the reason why she got the chance to meet walker.

The Western Wishes program turns countless dreams into lasting memories for those who are mentally challenged.

good to see popular musicians doing good deeds. that will be something Kelly Walker will remember and talk about for the rest of her life. Nice work Clay.

This young lady is our niece Kelli Jones. She is quite remarkable and we are very proud of her! It’s great that Clay Walker has the heart to participate in such a worthy program. However, you don’t have to be a celebrity to make a difference in the life of a person with special needs. Anyone can do it. Get involved and you will be amazed at how much your life is enriched!
