SPRINGFIELD, Ore. — Two Springfield teenagers are in jail Sunday night after reportedly leading police on a foot chase for more than a mile. Just after midnight Sunday morning, Springfield Police responded to a call at the corner of G and Mill after someone called 911 saying two people they knew were threatening them and had a gun.
Shortly after police found the two teens, Pharaoh Dickerson and Cameron Kelly more than a mile down the road at 16th and G near McKenzie Willamette Hospital. Police said the teens ran away and a K-9 officer tracked down Kelly in a nearby yard.
Police said Dickerson then threw a loaded gun into a yard and ran away. The dog found Dickerson hiding in a backyard in the 1700 block of F Street. The two are charged with menacing, interfering with police, trespassing, and disorderly conduct.
Kelly is also facing a charge for resisting arrest. Dickerson is facing a charge for an outstanding warrant and unlawful possession of a firearm.
