EUGENE, Ore. — Tennessee fans have a reputation for showing their colors and support for their football team.
So dedicated, some have traveled more than 2,000 miles for Saturday’s game against the Ducks.
Tennessee fans say it’s a tradition to follow their team, and it was a no-brainer to travel all the way to Autzen. But some fans we spoke with say they’re just as interested in Oregon’s larger venues–the Cascades and the Coast.
One couple we spoke with says they planned this trip in advance and are making a three-week vacation out of it. They’re actually staying in Creswell and roadtripping throughout the scenic state.
“We’re going to go up the Oregon Coast because we have heard that it is some of the most beautiful countryside, and we’re real anxious to see that,” said Tennessee fan Janet Russell.
She says pine trees, beautiful coast lines and the Oregon Ducks are what she associates with the state of Oregon.
As for the outcome of the game, a lot of the Tennessee fans say they’d like to see an upset but in reality they just hope to see improvement in their team that’s in the process of rebuilding.
