Thanksgiving Cooks Shop at Last Minute

EUGENE, Ore. — A lot of people are prepping for Thanksgiving dinner on Wednesday. Still others waited until the last minute to get their shopping done.

We caught up with a few who were stocking up at Grocery Outlet Wednesday afternoon.

“I was at Albertsons getting supplies for making my pies, but the pie tins were like really expensive, so I was like I’ll just get them at Grocery Outlet,” said Eugene resident Leah Child.

“No, I don’t really feel stressed about it. I’m trying to be non-stressed this holiday season,” said Eugene resident David Smith.

According to the National Turkey Federation, 88 percent of U.S. households eat turkey on Thanksgiving. At an average weight of 16 pounds a turkey, that adds up to 736 million pounds that will be eaten Thursday.
