Thursday’s Weather Discussion from Meteorologist Melissa Frey:
The sun is out and not a single cloud is around to block it. High pressure is in full force and our high temperatures will climb as a result. Thursday the valley will make it back into the mid 70s, the coast to the mid 60s and the Umpqua Basin to the low 80s.
Friday will be about the same, but much warmer weather will move in for this weekend. As temperatures climb in central California to the mid 90s, a heat low will form. This will push a thermal trough into western Oregon which will kick our highs up another notch with strong off-shore flow.
Highs will soar to the low 80s Saturday and Sunday!
Early next week we’ll see a return to on-shore flow which will drop temperatures a bit, back to the mid 70s. We’ll could also see a few thunderstorms fire up over central and southern Oregon Tuesday and Wednesday.
Have a great day!
