Thousands Walk in Race for the Cure

EUGENE, Ore. –There wasn’t a football game Sunday, but thousands of people headed to Autzen Stadium in the morning for the annual Race or the Cure.

People walked or ran along the streets of Eugene for the Susan G. Komen fundraiser run. Teams of runners were decked out from head to toe in pink for the breast cancer fundraiser.

“Our primary focus this year was on our goal of $400,000 of cash and in kind gifts and I’m delighted to say we are poised to meet that goal and fundraising continues through the end of the month,” said Thomas Bruner, Susan G. Komen of Oregon CEO.

Thousands of people took part in the three different races, even a few dogs took part in the event.
