EUGENE, Ore. — The Oregon Primary Care Association recognized three health care professionals at its annual Health Center Leadership Awards on April 25.
Dr. Kim Freuen, Dental Clinic Coordinator at the White Bird Clinic in Eugene, won a Health Equities award for aiding in the expansion of White Bird’s dental services and ensuring that more homeless and underserved individuals received access to high-quality oral health care.
Dr. Kim Krichbaum, Healthlinks Specialist at White Bird Clinic, won the Innovation award. It recognized his work with the Healthlinks program, offering nutrition or housing assistance for patients facing barriers to good health.
Dr. Jennifer Micek D.O., Provider at Umpqua Community Health Center in Roseburg, and her team also won an Innovation award. They won for providing intensive services to 85 patients that use the emergency room frequently, have high medication costs and/or suffer from both diabetes and mental illness.
