EUGENE, Ore. — Oregon State Police says three people died on Oregon roads over this holiday in three separate crashes, and DUIIs were double what they were during last year’s holiday period.
A 21-year-old Newberg man died Friday in a head-on crash on Highway 99 east near Woodburn.
Troopers blame snow and ice for the crash that killed a West Linn man on Sunday. And on Christmas Eve a 44-year-old man from Portland died in a motorcycle crash in Portland.
As for drunk-driving arrests, Springfield troopers busted eight people. That’s second only to Portland, which had 10.
There were a total of 53 in the state.
