EUGENE, Ore. — The Dalai Lama is coming in May and tickets went on sale Monday.
People lined up for hours outside Matthew Knight Arena to get tickets to see him. Some people said they showed up two hours early, just to secure a spot in line.
The tickets, which were also available online, sold out in about 25 minutes.
“I mean I was a little worried when the guy was going around handing out pieces of paper saying the tickets could sell out in five minutes and they were telling people to go online but my computer’s kind of slow,” said resident Geoffrey Mays.
The University of Oregon will also stream the Dalai Lama’s speech on its website.
