Town Reacts to Monaco Layoffs

MonacoHARRISBURG, Ore. — It’s only been a few days since a Harrisburg company announced it was closing, and community members are already wondering how it’s going to impact the town.

Monaco, a towable RV business, is shutting its doors, leaving more than 100 people jobless.

One resident KEZI 9 News spoke to worries the small convenient stores might take a hit because many employees go there on their lunch breaks.

“The day of the layoffs at the coach company, a lot of people were here that day. And the mood was very sad. And since then, it’s been a lot quieter around here,” said Harrisburg resident Michael Race.

We’ve been told that employees will get a couple months of severance pay plus vacation pay.
