BLUE RIVER, Ore. — Field of Dreams was baseball. Track and Field of dreams, is track and field.
And that’s exactly what they have in the McKenzie Community Track and Field.
A grand opening and track and field events were held Friday to show off the finished product.
It’s the result of dreams and donations by Aaron and Marie Jones of Seneca Lumber, The Ford Family Foundation and local residents.
“We’re here today to have the Aaron and Marie Jones Invitational and we have highschool students from schools all throughout the state of Oregon, from the coast to the central part of Oregon,” said Judy Casad, McKenzie Community Track and Field.
The track was founded to achieve three goals: provide a track & field facility for the schools, a wellness setting for the community, and contribute to the local economy.
