EUGENE, Ore. – Oregon Department of Transportation contractors will switch northbound Interstate 5 traffic to the new northbound lanes of the Whilamut Passage Bridge Thursday night.
The northbound Franklin Boulevard off-ramp will also be reopened, after being closed of nearly two years.
Crews will start preparing for the traffic switch Wednesday night by striping and installing guard rails and permanent signage.
The speed limit on the southbound lanes will be reduced to 50 mph through mid-September.
Motorists are advised to drive carefully through the work zone and to expect nighttime lane and shoulder closures.
