METEOROLOGIST MARISA WOLOSZYN’S FORECAST DISCUSSION:
Today with be be the transition day this week; moving from the cooler and wet weather to warm sunshine. A few light showers and areas of fog will start the morning, but skies will transition to partly sunny by the afternoon. Highs will be in the low 60s along the coast, mid 60s for the valley and near 70 for the Umpqua Basin.
High pressure takes full control moves in Friday through Wednesday. The weather will be dry and warmer with highs in the mid to mid 70s in the valley, near 80 in the Umpqua Basin and low 60s along the coast through Monday.
A thermal trough is going to form along the Pacific Coast, but won’t really influence our weather until Tuesday and Wednesday. When we finally see the warm air works its way up the coastline we’ll see our temperatures climb into the upper 60s along the coast, low 80s for the valley and mid 80 for the Umpqua Basin.
