Trash Can Fire in Eugene

EUGENE, Ore. — A tense couple of moments as Eugene and Springfield fire crews tried to prevent a fire from spreading to an apartment complex.

Fire crews responded around 8 p.m. Friday evening to a building on W. 11th in Eugene.

A storeage unit containing trash bins caught on fire in the alley. Crews quickly put the fire out.

Firew crews see about one or two dumpster fires a week and people should be extra cautious about what they put into a trash can.
