Travelers Notice Increased Security

EUGENE, Ore. — Runners flying back home across the country are experiencing a lot more airport security.

Travelers who landed in Eugene Tuesday told KEZI 9 News that security in some airports was more attentive than usual. They say TSA agents seemed like they were on edge and there were long delays getting through security.

“It took us forever to even get through the safety screening…and I could tell that people were cautioned to be more attentive, but they didn’t know what to do about it so they just struggled with one another,” said David Hagen.

The Department of Homeland Security released a statement saying there’s no evidence that Monday’s explosions were part of a broader plot but airports will continue to see “enhanced security measures.”
