Tree Recycling Options

EUGENE, Ore. — ‘Tis the season for Christmas tree recycling. This year, Lane County is making holiday clean up easy and green.

Lane Forest Products on Prairie Road in Eugene is just one of the places where you can unload your Christmas tree. Last year, they got 5,000 trees.

If you can’t drop it off, the company has partnered with three Boy Scout troops that can pick up your tree for you. All they ask is for a $5 donation. They take flocked trees as well, just make sure to remove all of the decorations first.

“Try to keep your tree as green as possible. If it’s real dry, that’s okay but it would be great if you make sure you get all our ornaments off of it. We don’t like to grind those up if we don’t have to so as clean as you can get all of that tinsel off of it and we’ll take it in,” says Tom Campbell with Lane Forest Products.

There are other tree services available next month. Lane Apex will collect trees during the third week of January for $10 per tree. The Eugene Active 20-30 Club has teamed up with Rexius and Sanipac to provide tree pickup service during the first two weekends of January.

Lane Forest Products charges $2 per tree.
