Trips for Kids-CAT Fundraises with Film

EUGENE, Ore. — The David Minor Theater on 5th Ave. helped out a local organization on Saturday.

People filed into the theater that afternoon in support of Trips for Kids-CAT, a mountain biking group for children. The day included a modern bike movie, local beer, food and good company.

The group’s mission is to get youth into more active lifestyles, and it’s one that seems to easily draw support from the community.

“Anytime you’re helping kids develop healthy lifestyles, I think that’s a positive thing. It’s hard to see any downside to it,” said donor Terry Love.

The event was a collaborative effort between several community organizations. The group hopes to raise enough money to buy at least four new bikes.
