YACHATS, Ore. — Parts of Highway 101 were shut down for four hours Thursday morning as crews worked to clean up a roll over accident.
Oregon State Police say the driver of the logging truck hit two elk on Highway 101 near Yachats. One of them ended up lodged under the truck, causing the driver to lose control. The truck then went over an embankment.
The driver wasn’t hurt, but about 50 to 60 gallons of fuel spilled out.
ODOT says no local waterways were damaged.
