TANGENT, Ore. — A log truck received major fire damage Tuesday after a fire started when it was traveling along Highway 34.
Oregon State Police say around 10 a.m. Randy L. Nunn, 44, of Sweet Home, was driving westbound on Highway 34, east of I-5, when a fire started near the dashboard.
Nunn said he pulled into the center median and stopped to avoid any potential of the fire from spreading on the nearby grass.
Tangent firefighters arrived on scene and extinguished the fire. The fire was restricted to the truck and didn’t spread to the logs.
ODOT closed the road for around 30 minutes. One lane of traffic was then opened in both directions for two hours until the truck and trailer were removed.
