Meteorologist Marisa Woloszyn’s Forecast Discussion:
Very hot temperatures are in store Tuesday. High pressure is in full control and a thermal low is pulling in hot are from the southwest part of the United States. A Heat Advisory is in effect for the Willamette Valley and mountain foothills from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday. High temperatures will be in the mid 90s for the Willamette Valley and foothills of the Cascades and Coast Range, upper 90s for the Umpqua Basin. Temperatures will be much cooler along the coast and in the upper 60s.
Onshore flow returns Wednesday. This will push the marine layer and marine clouds inland overnight. Temperatures will also be cooler and in the mid 60s along the coast and low 80s inland.
Beautiful weather will be in store for the Fourth of July. Skies will be sunny during the day with temperatures near 80 degrees. Skies will remain mostly clear for the firework shows, with temperatures cooling off into the mid 50s.
