The dinner will feed more than 2,200 people.
LCC Culinary arts program students prepare the meals, so no extra help is needed there, but organizers still need warm clothing donations.
You can take them to the Whiteaker Head Start Center on North Grand in Eugene this Sunday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. or next Saturday from 9 a.m. to noon.
“It just really kind of brings a tear to my eye. I mean this is really the community dinner made by and put on by the community. So our slogan is ‘Neighbors Helping Heighbors,’ and the feeling is just really felt there,” said Beverly Farfan, Director of Whiteaker Community Dinners.
The free dinner is held between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. on Thanksgiving Day.
