May 18, 2012COTTAGE GROVE, Ore. — Two Cottage Grove residents are accused of burying a man after he died more than 15 years ago and stealing his social security benefits.
Investigators say Carel Cody was a caregiver for John Arnold when he died between 1994 and 1996.
They say she buried his body on his property but kept collecting his social security.
Her husband, Ernest Cook, faces federal charges for allegedly lying to investigators when he told them Arnold was still alive.
