SPRINGFIELD, Ore. — Two men were taken into custody for disorderly conduct after a young woman reported them for harassing her at work. Springfield Police officers took over The Sizzler parking lot on Gateway Friday morning just before 10:30 a.m. They spent more than an hour questioning three men about the incident and going through their car, before releasing one and taking in the other two.
KEZI 9 News was able to reach the victim who says the men drove around the parking lot where she was working several times. She says they stared at her and then pulled over, yelling at her to get in the car. She says she wasn’t sure if she should report the incident, but officers say she did the right thing.
Officer Andy Hargis says, “Anytime you think you should call the police and you feel like your safety and somebody else’s safety is in danger, don’t hesitate to do it. It’s our job to come and do that.”
Eugene Police and Oregon State Police were also initially called to the scene to help.
