Two Arrested for Stealing Vehicle

EUGENE, Ore. — Two people were arrested after an off-duty Eugene police officer spotted them driving a stolen vehicle.

He called dispatch Sunday afternoon and police later found the vehicle in the 500 block of International Way in Springfield.

Eugene police officers arrested Tyler James Gardner, 29, and Tiffany Honochick, 22, both of Eugene, for allegedly stealing the vehicle during a home burglary and used it to go back to the home to steal more things, police said.

Police say Gardner and Honochick are on current probation for burglary.

They were lodged at the Lane County Jail Sunday afternoon on several charges, including possession of heroin, first degree burglary, and unlawful use of a vehicle. They were released that evening.
