Two Eugene Men Arrested for Dispute

EUGENE, Ore. — Two Eugene men are in jail after a dispute ended with gunfire.

It all started with the report of an assault last Wednesday.

The Lane County Sheriff’s Office says 61-year-old Michael Young reported he was assaulted by Steve Burke. Deputies weren’t able to find Burke that day.

Then Sunday, deputies were called to shots fired on Svarverud Road. Investigators say that’s where they discovered that Young confronted Burke, this time armed with a gun and zip ties.

When Burke refused to go with Young, deputies say young shot at Burke several times but missed.

Both men were arrested on a number of charges.
