Two Injured After Car Crashes into House

EUGENE, Ore — Two people were hospitalized after a crash late Monday in North Eugene.

The crash happened on the corner of Irving Road and Oxford Court, just off of River Road.

Witnesses say the driver of a black Toyota Camry was driving erratically down the street without headlights on, when it smashed into a plum-colored Mazda, sending it into a nearby home.

Witnesses say the damage to the cars was pretty bad.

“They had to cut the whole top of the car off. Yeah, they had to use the Jaws of Life to get the guy out of his car and he was unconscious and unresponsive and the other guy was already laying in the grass,” said resident Amber Atkins.

Lane County Deputies say they believe alcohol and speed may have been factors in the crash.
