Two Injured in Motorcycle Crash

ROSEBURG, Ore. – Oregon State Police says a couple was seriously injured after their motorcycle traveled off the road and crashed Saturday.

Troopers say around 8 p.m. a motorcycle was travelling westbound on Highway 138E near milepost 56, when it went off the highway and struck a tree stump.

The driver Kenneth Minshew, 57, of Roseburg, and passenger Linda Minshew, 62, of Roseburg were thrown from the motorcycle and fell nearly 100 feet down a steep cliff, landing onto a ledge below.

The Douglas County Steep Angle Rescue team responded to the scene and rescued the couple. They were transported by air ambulance to Rogue Regional Medical Center and then to the Oregon Health & Science University in Portland. They are still in critical condition.

OSP is continuing their investigation, but says the couple was wearing protective helmets.
