Two Rescued on Willamette River

EUGENE, Ore. — The Lane County Sheriff’s Office responded to a water rescue Saturday afternoon.

Around 2 p.m. deputies rescued two people from the Willamette River. The pair said their kayak got snagged downstream from where the Willamette and McKenzie rivers converge.

Lane County deputies happened to be in the area at the time and rescued the pair. They were treated for minor injuries and cited for floating while under the influence.
