EUGENE, Ore. — The head of the Oregon University System is stepping down on Friday, but will get paid for another year.
It’s part of a severance agreement unanimously approved by the State Board of Higher Education.
George Pernsteiner says he’s stepping down because the board wants new leadership.
After Pernsteiner runs out of vacation time in May he’ll keep collecting his salary for 12 months, unless he accepts another job.
