Friday’s Weather Discussion from Meteorologist Melissa Frey:
From the moment the sun rose, the skies have been clear. We only dropped to the mid 40s overnight and made it to the 60s by 10 a.m. The temperature will continue to climb all the way to the upper 70s by the end of the day.
High pressure is in full force and will stay through the weekend. This will keep our skies clear and storm free. As temperatures climb in central California to the mid 90s, a heat low will form. This will push a thermal trough into western Oregon which will kick our highs up another notch with strong off-shore flow this weekend.
The valley will likely soar to the low 80s Saturday and Sunday, the Umpqua Basin to the mid 80s!
Early next week we’ll see a return to on-shore flow which will drop temperatures a bit, back to the mid 70s (still above average for this time of year). We could also see a few thunderstorms fire up over central and southern Oregon starting Monday.
Have a great weekend!
