EUGENE, Ore. — The University of Oregon celebrated the grand opening of another new building.
About 450 students are already living in the Global Scholars Hall. But Tuesday, the public got a chance to see what makes the building special.
This is a living learning building with dorm rooms and academic spaces for students to learn and study in. The students who live there are either from the Robert D. Clark Honors College or the Global Scholars language programs.
“These are all high-achieving students who love living together and studying together, and the incidental learning that takes place outside the classroom, just as they go through their daily routines, is really amazing,” said Robert Davis, UO Language professor.
Visitors also got to donate items to include in a time capsule that will be opened in 2062, Eugene’s 200th birthday.
