UO Choir Wins Competition in Ireland

EUGENE, Ore. — The University of Oregon Chamber Choir won first place at a singing competition in Ireland this weekend.

On Saturday, the choir competed in one of Europe’s most prestigious choral arts events, the Fleischmann International Trophy Competition.

Choirs from 17 countries participated.┬áThe UO’s choir, UO Professor Sharon J. Paul, was the only one from the United States to compete.

Before performing at the competition, the choir performed at concerts in Dublin, Kells and Loughrea.
