UO Dining Halls to Hold Local Food Night

EUGENE, Ore. — When you think of dorm food, you might not picture meals coming straight from the local farm.

But at the University of Oregon, chefs will partner with local growers for the fifth annual Farm to Fork meal.

Students on Wednesday night can get a taste of what Oregon farmers, including lamb chops from the Willamette Valley and pears from Hood River. They’ll even have a chance to meet some of the farmers there.

The goal is to teach students about where their food comes from connect them with the growers.

The event happens from 5:30-7 p.m. at Carson and Barnhart Hall.
