UO Dorm Evacuated Due to Smoke

EUGENE, Ore. — A University of Oregon dorm was evacuated Tuesday morning due to reports of smoke.

The Eugene firefighters responded to Dunn Hall in the Hamilton Complex just before 11 a.m.

The Eugene Fire Department says a fire started in the basement inside a janitor’s closet. The cause is still unknown.

The entire Hamilton complex was evacuated as a precaution. All but the Dunn Hall residents have been let back in. Dunn Hall residents will be let back in later in the afternoon.
