UO Downs Utah Valley in Regional Opener

EUGENE, Ore – The #1 ranked and top-seeded Oregon Ducks softball team easily dispersed of  Utah Valley State Friday in the opening round of NCAA regionals with a 12-1 victory in five innings.

Pac-12 Pitcher of the Year Cheridan Hawkins struck out five of the seven batters she faced over two innings, while Oregon put up an eight-run first inning and three more in the second.

The Ducks move on to play Wisconsin in the second round  Saturday at 11:00 a.m.
