EUGENE, Ore.– Oregon scored five runs in the bottom of the sixth inning to break a 1-1 tie en route to a 6-1 victory in game two of the Eugene Regional.
The win helped the Ducks advance to the Regional championship game on Saturday at 1 p.m. at Howe Field.
Oregon loaded the bases with one out when Janie Takeda laced a two-run double into center field that made it 3-1. The Ducks got another run on an illegal pitch. Then with one on, catch Janelle Lindvall smashed a home run into the left field bleachers.
Starting pitcher Cheridan Hawkins pitched seven innings of two-hit ball, allowing one run and one walk while striking out 11.
