EUGENE, Ore. — The budget battle between the University of Oregon’s student leadership and the marching band has ended for now.
The ASUO considered cutting the band’s budget, but band members spoke out. So instead of a cut, OAB got a 5-percent raise compared to last year. However, going forward, the ASUO says it will phase out its funding of the band.
Student senators say the athletic department should cover those costs.
