5-12 UO SEX CRIMESEUGENE, Ore. — The University of Oregon Coalition to End Sexual Violence repeatedly emphasized the need to survey the rates of sexual assaults on campus.

So KEZI 9 News took a look into cases reported on campus during the past few years and found the number of forcible sex crimes on campus is on the rise.

In 2010 there were seven cases reported on campus, in 2011 there were eight, and in 2012 there were 17 reports of forced rape, sodomy and other sex crimes against a person’s will.

These numbers only reflect crimes on campus, in residence halls and buildings owned by the university.
